Charcoal briquettes

Adding the BPE Shimada Extrusion Briquetting Press to the product program has enabled C.F. Nielsen to enter the market for carbonized briquettes. There are two kinds of carbonized briquettes – one where the raw material is carbonized before briquetting and the other where the raw material is carbonized after briquetting. C.F. Nielsen produces the 2nd type, which is high-quality extruded briquettes, with an increasing market trend and increasing prices.

How to categorize the two types of charcoal briquettes?

  • Briquettes with a carbon content 80-85% – typically for restaurants. It is a hard product with metallic sound, takes 1 hour to ignite, can burn 5-7 hours. Almost all briquettes in this quality are made from hard woods.
  • Briquettes with a carbon content 70-75% – it is a good product for barbecue, it ignites faster, and burns considerably longer than normal charcoal. Briquettes are made from different types of wood and some agricultural residues.
